OVERVIEW

Quillhollow Companion is designed to work on your device, without collecting your data. Wilson Technical Arts does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data through the Software. The Software contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no crash reporting, and it does not phone home. This policy describes how your information is handled and the limited circumstances in which information is processed when you voluntarily contact Wilson Technical Arts.

This policy applies to the Quillhollow Companion application distributed via the Google Play Store. The Quillhollow desktop application is covered by a separate policy.

Wilson Technical Arts Inc. ("Wilson Technical Arts", "we", "us") is based in Ontario, Canada, and subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Our End User License Agreement is distributed with the Software.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT AND WHY

1.1 Software Operation

During use, Quillhollow Companion operates on your device. No data about you, your writing, or your activity is collected by, transmitted to, or shared with Wilson Technical Arts or any third party by the Software. The Software performs no analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking, contains no advertising, and includes no automatic crash or error reporting.

1.2 Your Project Files and Synchronization

Your project files are stored on your device or in a folder you designate through Android's Storage Access Framework. The Software synchronizes with the Quillhollow desktop application by reading and writing files in a shared folder that you control. This synchronization does not pass through Wilson Technical Arts; we operate no sync server and receive no copy of your files. If you choose a folder managed by a third-party cloud-storage service, that service stores and synchronizes your files under its own terms and privacy policy, independent of Wilson Technical Arts.

1.3 Google Play

The Software is distributed through the Google Play Store, operated by Google LLC. Your download and installation of the Software, and any associated account activity, are handled by Google in accordance with its own privacy practices. Wilson Technical Arts does not receive, process, or store your name, email address, Google account details, or any other personally identifying information in connection with your download or use of the Software. Google's collection and handling of your information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), independent of this policy.

1.4 Feedback and Bug Reports

The Software does not transmit feedback or bug reports automatically. If you choose to contact Wilson Technical Arts by email at support@quillhollow.app, any information you voluntarily include (which may include your application version, device, or other context you choose to share to aid investigation) is used solely to address your report and is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for that purpose.

2. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell, rent, or share information about you with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes. Because the Software collects no data, there is no usage data to share.

We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Google Play platform: Your download and installation of the Software are operated by Google LLC. Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) governs its handling of your account and download information.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, or valid legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wilson Technical Arts, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfer: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of Wilson Technical Arts, any information we hold may be transferred to the acquiring entity, subject to the same protections described in this policy. We will provide notice of any such transfer as described in our End User License Agreement.

3. DATA SECURITY

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect any information we hold against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Because the Software collects no data and we store no account or file information for users of the Software, the surface area of data we hold is limited to any voluntary email correspondence you initiate.

Your project files reside on your device or in a folder you control. Their security is governed by your device, your operating system, and any third-party cloud-storage service you choose to use, rather than by Wilson Technical Arts.

4. YOUR RIGHTS

Wilson Technical Arts does not store personal data about you in connection with your use of the Software.

To the extent any personal data is incidentally processed (for example, in written feedback you voluntarily submit by email), you may have the following rights depending on your jurisdiction:

  • Access: You may request information about any personal data we hold that relates to you.
  • Correction: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: You may request that we delete personal data we hold about you.
  • Portability: You may request a copy of any personal data we hold in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Restriction: You may request that we limit how we use your personal data while a request is being resolved.
  • Objection: You may object to our processing of your personal data where that processing is based on legitimate interest.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@quillhollow.app. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

For information about exercising privacy rights with respect to data held by Google LLC in connection with your Google account or the Google Play Store, please refer to the Google Privacy Policy.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We would prefer to address your concerns directly first, and encourage you to contact us before filing a complaint.

If you are located in Canada, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

5. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS

Wilson Technical Arts does not collect or sell personal information as part of the Software's operation, as described in Section 1. Accordingly, Wilson Technical Arts does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and is not required to provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" mechanism with respect to the Software's operation. California residents who wish to exercise rights under the CCPA / CPRA may contact us at support@quillhollow.app. Google's handling of California residents' personal information through the Google Play platform is governed by Google's own privacy policy.

6. CHILDREN

The Software is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or store any data in connection with use by children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us at support@quillhollow.app. Use of the Google Play Store is also subject to Google's own age requirements, which are administered by Google LLC.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is distributed with the Software through Google Play updates, identified by its version number and effective date. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notification on first launch following an update, or a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Software after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy for any new interactions; your rights regarding previously collected information are not diminished by any update.
